Elton John and Years & Years Cover Pet Shop Boys at BRIT Awards 2021: Watch

Elton John and Years & Years’ Olly Alexander performed at the 2021 BRIT Awards in London tonight, covering the 1987 Pet Shop Boys classic “It’s a Sin.” Alexander began the performance atop John’s piano. Watch the neon-lit performance below.

Alexander, who also released a low-key cover of the track in January, starred in the recent TV show of the same name, Russell T. Davies’ dramatization of the AIDS crisis in London.

Following the 2021 BRIT Awards livestream, John and Alexander released an official version of their “It’s a Sin” cover, which is produced by Stuart Price and Pet Shop Boys. All proceeds from the single go toward the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
